¿Quiénes somos?
Los autores de Cocoa Beans nos dedicamos a tiempo completo a la gestión profesional de renta variable y actualmente estamos basados en Ginebra y Madrid respectivamente.
Cocoa Beans es el resultado de dedicar parte de nuestro tiempo libre a la búsqueda de ideas interesantes para nuestras carteras personales y que no son invertibles en nuestro día a día profesional por el tamaño o tipología. En definitiva, queremos compartir aquí la pasión por el análisis, que es uno de nuestros mayores hobbies.
Las entradas y capítulos que iremos tratando van a estar focalizados principalmente en situaciones especiales y en compañías de muy baja capitalización y poco seguidas por los fondos institucionales y el sell side. Intentaremos aportar nuestra visión y análisis mediante artículos relativamente breves, así como con un pocast de episodios cortos de una duración estimada de 10 a 15 minutos.
El objetivo que buscamos con este blog/podcast es doble. Por un lado, queremos mejorar nosotros mismos como inversores. Cocoa Beans se centra en situaciones especiales que son a menudo complejas e intimidantes para la mayoría de los inversores. Escribir sobre estas situaciones especiales de una manera que sea comprensible y coherente para otros inversores nos ayuda a aclarar nuestro propio pensamiento. Además, queremos poner a prueba nuestras tesis de inversión sometiéndolas al escrutinio de otros inversores inteligentes. Al igual que Warren Buffett a menudo recurre a Charlie Munger como filtro para sus ideas de inversión, nosotros queremos buscar las opiniones de otros para descubrir los puntos ciegos en las nuestras.
No pretendemos en ningún caso realizar recomendaciones de inversión: el objetivo es el de divulgar, compartir e intercambiar ideas, y hacerlo en español. Nuestra meta es, por tanto, puramente egoísta.
Nuestras ideas provienen principalmente de filtrar las ideas de otros en la comunidad financiera: fondos de inversión nacionales e internacionales, hedge funds especializados, otros foros y blogs especializados, y nuestra red de amigos y contactos.

Who Are We?
The authors of Cocoa Beans are full-time equity portfolio managers currently based in Geneva and Madrid.
Cocoa Beans is the result of dedicating part of our free time to seeking interesting investment ideas for our personal portfolios that, due to their size or nature, are not investable in our day-to-day professional activities. Ultimately, we want to share our passion for analysis, which is one of our greatest hobbies.
The posts and chapters we will be covering will focus mainly on special situations and very small-cap companies that are little followed by institutional funds and the sell-side. We will try to provide our perspective and analysis through relatively short articles, as well as a podcast with short episodes of an estimated 10 to 15 minutes.
The goal of this blog/podcast is twofold. On the one hand, we want to improve ourselves as investors. Cocoa Beans focuses on special situations that are often complex and intimidating for most investors. Writing about these special situations in a way that is understandable and coherent for other investors helps us clarify our own thinking. Additionally, we want to test our investment theses by subjecting them to the scrutiny of other intelligent investors. Just as Warren Buffett often turns to Charlie Munger as a filter for his investment ideas, we want to seek the opinions of others to discover blind spots in our own.
In no way do we intend to make investment recommendations: the goal is to disseminate, share, and exchange ideas, and to do so in Spanish. Our goal is therefore purely selfish.
Our ideas come mainly from filtering the ideas of others in the financial community: domestic and international investment funds, specialized hedge funds, other specialized forums and blogs, and our network of friends and contacts.
